Migrating to google photos from iclud+

Hi guys, I am on icloud+ and it synced all my media on the cloud, hence, it reduced the quality of my media and I can see it online only in full quality.

The problem is I find it very expensive for 2TB storage compared to google photos, I have two questions:

1- If I use google photos to backup my media, will it get the data from icloud(full quality) and upload it full quality as well?

2- will it do the "storage optimization" that compress media on my local storage and keep a compressed version of it like icloud does?

Thanks.

iPhone 11, iOS 18

The following has information about transferring from iCloud to Google Photos. They are normally full quality but some formats such as some RAW files may not be supported. That is discussed in the article. Transfer a copy of your iCloud Photos collection to another service - Apple Support

Google Photos doesn't have an optimization feature that works the same way as iCloud but it does have an option to delete photos from your iPhone while still keeping them in your Google cloud storage.
