Delayed spacebar response on MacBook Air keyboard

So while im typing a sentence if i stop right before i need to hit space and wait for longer than 1 second the space will not work and i have to almost like reset it by hitting another key and then backspacing that key. then once i clear the un-needed letter my space bar works again. How do i fix this guys and gals if anyones experienced this, cause from what ive seen no one has
