I just got a new HP printer. Everything is working fine except that in only prints in black/white from computer. From android phone it prints also in color.
I contacted HP Customer Service who could not fix this problem and said it is the computer's fault. Could it be Sonoma 14.7.1? I didn't have this problem with other software or other HP printers.
Spoken like true HP support. It's Apple's fault (which it is not).
First, update your Sonoma v14.7.1 to v14.7.2. If Software Update only offers Sequoia v15.2, look further down on that screen and see if it has a link for another update is available. That link will be the ability to update Sonoma (and probably Safari), but not upgrade you to Sequoia.
In reality, if you installed HP printer software from any CD/DVD that came with that "new" printer, it was already outdated, and you need to visit the HP site for that specific printer model and get the current printer driver for macOS 14. Once you install them, you will need to remove and re-add the printer in System Settings > Printers & Scanners panel and choose those new drivers. If this is not a hardware issue or a bad cartridge, you should be able to print chroma instead of monochrome.
On your Mac, remove the driver in the Printer settings, then add the printer again using the AirPrint/Bonjour drivers instead of what HP provides.

I tried to update Sonoma from 14.7.1 to 14.7.2. The update got stuck at "30 min remaining", so after several hours I gave up. I did update the HP printer software though and this worked. I am able to print in color from my computer now. Thank you very much.
Thank you for your response. I am afraid to follow your suggestion because I might mess up something else. That happens occasionally when I try to change something in my settings.
