Focus - I can't stop apps / notifications getting through

I have an app for which I set up a "Focus". I use an iPhone 14 Pro and currently my iOS is 18.2

For this "Focus" I have the following settings.

Under people I only allow my wife, no others.

In apps I have selected "Silence Notifications from". In the list of apps I included Apple Mail, Apple Message and Phone, so none of these apps should be allowed. I've disabled "Time Sensitive Notifications".

Under "Options" I've enabled "Show on Lock Screen" and "Hide Notifications Badges"

Under Silence notifications I've selected "Always".

Dim Lock Screen is disabled.

So I silenced notification from mail, messages and phone while only allowing my wife. Someone calls the phone rings, someone texts me, I get the sound that a text has been received.

Can someone guide me in what I've done wrong. I do not want anything or any app to break through the focus except my wife.

Thank you.

Please look at your settings...

Repeated Calls: If someone calls you twice within three minutes, the second call isn't silenced.

Please see the pic below which is self-explanatory

  • You have allowed certain notifications to bypass Do Not Disturb. By default, phone calls, text messages, and FaceTime calls will still ring or vibrate when Do Not Disturb is on. However, you can also allow other notifications to bypass Do Not Disturb by going to Settings > Focus> Do Not Disturb > Allow Notifications and selecting the apps and contacts that you want to be able to notify you even when Do Not Disturb is turned on.
  • You have enabled System Haptics. System Haptics provides haptic feedback for certain actions, such as when you touch and hold an app icon or scroll through a list. Even if Do Not Disturb is on, your iPhone will still vibrate for System Haptics if you have enabled it. To disable System Haptics, go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and turn off System Haptics.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not using do not disturb. I set a "Focus" for an app. When app start Focus starts. I do see the Focus initiating.

As I said I'm using the "Silence notifications from" which means you can only pick apps and as I said I picked all the apps that so far have interrupted me. When picking apps no "Repeat Calls" In any event these are not repeat, someone phones it rings, some texts it texts me.

The only people it is suppose to let through is my wife, it lets just about anyone even if app is selected for silence.
