Purchased show shows up on phone, but not on TV

Hi--I recently purchased an episode of "The Bureau", a french thriller. I can watch it on my phone, but it does not appear on my TV set, in my account. In addition, if I search for this show on the TV, it doesn't appear at all.


Any ideas?

On what brand and model TV is this? Do you know the year of model introduction?

Some select TVs (and select third party streaming devices) get a specialized edition of the Apple TV app, and named slightly different to reflect that: Apple TV+ app. This edition doesn’t have a Store, nor Library, nor options for third party channels. Could that be it?

Users with TVs that do not have support for the full Apple TV app, can consider an external streaming device that does support this bigger edition. That can be an Apple TV box, Roku, Fire TV, PlayStation (4, 5), Xbox (One, One S, X, S), ‘Chromecast with Google TV’-dongle, Nvidia Shield TV box.

In late 2021, the Samsung models from 2017 or later that didn’t have the full Apple TV app before (was: select 2018+ models), would then be offered to get the Apple TV+ app instead, so that those owners could access the Apple TV+ service too. Not sure what the reasons were for the alternate edition of the app for select older models, but this was apparently agreed upon between Samsung and Apple (similar with LG for their 2016+ models).
