How long does the 'Erase Your Mac' process take on MacBook Pro?

13" MacBook Pro i5 1,4 GHz 256 GB SSD (2020)

Started the Erase your Mac process a while a go... still not finished.

How long does this usually take?

That usually only takes a minute or less. An SSD can be reformatted in moments.

If the process is taking longer than that, then I suggest that you cancel whatever process is handling it and try again. If the problem persists then it may be that the drive is suffering data corruption or even hardware failure.

Thank you. Apparently the Mac ran out of juice during the process, or something else went wrong because now it just goes into a cycle attempting to start and can’t load. I tried tried Internet Recovery and got an -F2201 or something like that response. You’re right, the disk might be corrupted. I’ll take it to the shop and see what they can do, if anything.
