Transferring discontinued app to new iPad

I have a discontinued and unsuppoerted app on my iPad. It is no longer available in the App Store. If I get a new iPad, how can I transfer that app to the new iPad? I am deciding whether or not to get a new iPad. I only use it for work right now. There is a particular program on there that I use, and that program is no longer in the App Store. If I can't transfer it to a new iPad, there is no reason for me to spend the money on a new device. Is there a way to get that app onto a new iPad?

Apps cannot be transferred between devices. While Apple's transfer process will transfer files and settings - along with a record of Apps that are installed - the transfer process will attempt to download Apps from the Apple App Store to the target (i.e. new) device.

It follows that Apps can only be downloaded if they (a) remain available, and (b) are compatible with the target device.

As such, Apps that are no longer available can neither be installed on your new iPad - or if ever deleted from your current iPad, cannot be reinstalled.

Apps can be withdrawn from the App Store for many reasons. If a Developer ceases to support and update their Apps (i.e., the are abandoned), they will eventually be withdrawn by Apple.
