The iPhone 16 uses a USB-C port for data and charging.

You can charge it with any USB-C cable, either USB-C <-> USB-C, or USB-A -> USB-C.

You can also charge it wirelessly using any of the compatible (Qi/Qi2/MagSafe) wireless charging options.

The lightning cable? No.

In theory it should be possible to construct a cable with a female Lightning port on one end and a USB-C port on the other, but you'd need some smarts in the cable to handle the communication protocol across USB-C and Lightning (both enable communication between the ends to negotiate power delivery rates), and I'm not aware of any manufacturer that makes such a cable.

As such, most lightning cables are rapidly becoming obsolete.
