Quicktime, Why Can't I. ?

  1. Why Can't I : Resize a window then play the movie. It won't play after re sizing.

You have to close the movie, re open it , then play the movie and resize while it's playing. If it ever does work, this is a Bug that happens all of the time and needs fixing!

  1. Why Can't I : Choose a movie to loop, then save it so any time I re open the film it's saved to LOOP?

The Loop option is Never saved.

Seems simple Apple. You could always do this in earlier versions, seems like you are going backwards.

This is not an issue on other platforms.

First, please understand that you're not communicating with Apple when you post in the Community. Apple support or customer services representatives do not participate in these forums. We're all just fellow users, helping out as we have time and knowledge to share.

As to your issue:

1) Resizing a non-playing movie and then trying to play it works fine for me on my Mac mini running macOS 15.2, the most current release as does resizing while the movie is playing. If you haven't updated your Mac, do that and see if that fixes the problem. If not, post back with details, such as if the movies that have problems have any commonality (i.e. file format, resolution, etc) and someone may be able to offer suggestions.

2) While none of us here can in general answer any "why" question with certainty, I would assume that it's because looping is a player function and not something that is saved in the file's metadata. If there is a way to do that, I'm not aware of one.  If you wish to provide feedback to Apple, you can do so here:
