How can I unlock MacBook Air from lock screen

i wanna ask one question that how to unlock my id from lock screen in mac book air. I just recently bought macbook air 5 days ago. It’s my first mac and I didn’t had any idea about it. But i forgot my lock-screen password. I have done the process of resetting passwords. I changed it and then i tried to put new password on mac but it didn’t recognise my new password and it went locked. So please help me to get fix.

First, if your Mac is linked to your Apple ID, look for the “Forgot Password?” option on the lock screen and reset it using your Apple ID. If that doesn’t work, restart your Mac and hold Command (⌘) + R to enter macOS Recovery. From there, select Utilities > Terminal, type resetpassword, and follow the steps to reset your password. If none of this helps, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store with proof of purchase to verify ownership and get assistance.
