migration assistant app for macOS Sequoia 15.1

I just received my new Macbook Air. In order to migrate my data from a windows PC, it tells me to use the Microsoft Assistant app for macOS Sequoia 15.1. There does not seem to be such an app. What should I use?

Windows, Windows 10

I had exactly the same problem. I was tearing my hear out trying to get this thing working.

Windows 10 pc which was wired and Mac mini m4 which was WiFi.

I did get it to work though after hours of trial and error

i ended up buying a mini network hub which connects to my isp router…. Connected both to the hub via Ethernet which is 1gbit. disabled WiFi on Mac and disabled both Mac and windows firewalls…. And bingo! The problem has gone they found each other at last

one thing I hate about this app, you can only transfer files / folders to the actual Mac internal storage and not even fast thunderbolt storage….

Use Migration Assistant to connect your computers

Find out which macOS your Mac is using, then follow the appropriate steps.

If your Mac is using macOS Sonoma 14.4 or later

  1. On your PC, download and install Windows Migration Assistant 3. Get this version only if your Mac is using macOS Sonoma 14.4 or later.
  2. If it isn't, follow the steps for macOS Sonoma 14.3.1 or earlier, which requires an earlier version of Windows Migration Assistant.
