Disabling the 'Turn on Reactions' prompt when camera turns on

Just updated the OS to Sonoma and now this is an annoying part of my day - every call I get the "turn on reactions" pop up. 😡

I don't want stuff shoved in my face - this is not how you build a happy user base.

And, by the holy teapot, allow us to TURN IT OFF!

Also happening on Google Meet in Chrome. Happens for each call I join, which is about 7-8 times a day.

The `x` in the upper right corner doesn't seem to dismiss the dialog either. I need to click the green camera icon in the menu bar.

It looks like turning off Facetime notifications and restarting works!

If your Facetime notifications are already off, toggle them on, switch the style to ‘None’ then turn back off then restart. > System Settings > Notifications > Facetime > turn off Allow Notifications. Then restart your machine. (tried this without restarting and it did not work).

Hope that fixes it for you. Hope even more that Apple patches this terrible feature.

This is happening for me in Zoom Workspace Version: 6.3.0 (44805).

Happening with Google Meet and Zoom. Clicking the "X" does nothing. Have to click the green camera icon.

Does anyone at Apple use the computers like we do? Annoying.

This is so frustrating. What product manager thought this was a good idea?

I have this issue as well. And I've tried turning off Facetime notifications. STILL have the issue!

I'd love to just roll back to an older MacOS before these stupid "Reactions" were added. GGGGRRRRR!!!

this is the most annoying, bane of my existence feature that has no clear solution. insane!

Is MacOs trying to be as annoying as windows? what are they thinking... soon asking you to use Safari

Disabling all facetime notifications to remove a non-stop "Turn On Reactions" pop up does not seem like a valid option if you're using zoom, teams, meet and facetime constantly. Why?

APPLE, WHAT THE ****? STEVE JOBS WOULD BE SO ASHAMED!!

I figured out a workaround! Command-drag the little green menu extra into the trash can. You won't be able to use it afterward, but this "feature" is so annoying that I don't care.

Product managers: take this as an example of why these insipid "tourtips" annoy end users more than they are helpful. I'd rather not use your entire feature than have this thing pop up multiple times a day. It's like having a gnat that constantly is flying into your eyes—not a big deal, but sooooo annoying.

This fix didn't work for me. I've tried multiple things and I'm super p.o.'d at this point. Dumbest feature ever. Thankfully this is a new MacBook and I'm still in the return window because this is absolute trash. Going back to my old MacBook.

I'm also having the same issue with Google Meet on Chrome Version 131.0.6778.206 and Sequoia 15.2

APPLE - Please REMOVE this, we all hate it! None of the methods here work for me.
