Terminal Freezing Issue on macOS 15.2 (MacBook Pro 14-inch, M4 Pro)
I'm experiencing a recurring issue with the Terminal app on my 14-inch MacBook Pro. Here are the details:
- MacBook Pro: 14-inch
- Chip: Apple M4 Pro
- macOS Version: 15.2 (24C101)
- Issue: The Terminal app occasionally freezes completely when I click the "Shell" button in the top menu bar. I typically use this button to open a new tab within the Terminal window.
- Frequency: This freeze happens almost daily, but not every time I click the "Shell" button.
- Impact: When the freeze occurs, the entire Terminal application becomes unresponsive. I cannot type any commands, close the window, or use any menu options.
- Workaround: The only way to resolve the issue is to use Force Quit to close the Terminal application.
Questions:
- Has anyone else encountered this problem on macOS 15.2, especially with an M4 Pro MacBook Pro?
- Are there any known workarounds or solutions for this issue besides Force Quit?
- Could this be a bug in macOS 15.2, and if so, is there a way to report it to Apple?
Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Regards
Cem
