Is it possible to just connect an Ethernet cable between the Windows 11 PC (Dell Inspiron 3670) and the M4 mac Mini and expect Migration Assistant to use it? I tried just turning off Wi-Fi on both machines, but the PC always fails to connect to the mac.
Also, Wi-Fi will connect but is painfully slow. I would really prefer to use an Ethernet cable if at all possible.

Yes you can use the faster and more reliable Ethernet to Ethernet connection to Migrate.

I would never recommend using any kind of wireless transfer. Doing so will almost always cause corruption or loss to your data.
