mac os error while installing when not installing anything

I'm not installing anything. I leave my computer and come back to find fourteen or so messages "error while installing" cancel or ok. It doesn't say what and I am coming back to it after it being in sleep mode with both screen and internet off (as set in sleep mode parameters) The computer is on the highest OS that it can take.

It happens both while safari is left open and when its turned off.

I don't know what is being installed there is no indication in task manager of anything running. Please advise
