What causes the flashing Orange/Amber light on AirPods?
- Flashing won't stop. Case itself drains power just sitting there if not plugged in.
- Fully charged, so that's not why it flashes
- Connects perfectly fine with laptops.
- Using all Apple cables and what not.
Reset doesn't work, this has been done multiple times by me and Apple (in store and shipped out), after the hold time with the reset it beeps 3x. Must mean something to someone.
The case was replaced 2x by the Apple Store (so I lost out on my engraving). Shipping to Apple itself, always returned saying they can't reproduce, which isn't possible. The store shipped it for me the 2nd time and got the same mystery result, which baffled them as well.
With the 2nd replacement, the issue seemed to start when I paired the headphones with multiple laptops. From what I can tell, this should be perfectly fine. I've even turned off auto connecting so it doesn't have to decide. I unpaired/forgot on all devices, and attempted the reset which doesn't work. I've even done the odd reset with one earbud and then the other. Waiting 30 minutes in between for the magic to work. Still nothing.
*I do not use this with an iPhone.
I feel like there is a bug with the firmware, and the majority of people don't have multiple laptops, so my guess is that the problem is ignored. Does anyone have a clue on what I should do? All of this has happened within 6 months. Original Airpod pros do not have this issue while using the same setup.
I can't get my money back, clearly. Just looking for a resolve before the case's battery wears down and I'm forced to replace them with something else.
