Insert event in apple calendar that takes place on a different date in a leap year

Hello, I would like to enter an event that takes place annually on December 21, but on December 20 in a leap year. How does this work?

I’m unaware of any way to specify that repeat interval using the Apple Calendar app UI.

You might be able to get that to work with a hand-created ICS file with the following RFC 5545 repeating-event syntax detail:

FREQ=YEARLY; BYYEARDAY=355;

When next back to a Mac, I’ll test an ICS with that syntax.

I wouldn’t automatically assume this ICS syntax has gotten a whole lot of testing, either.
