Apple Watch notifies me for someone else’s calendar events

I am getting random event notifications on my Apple Watch, birthday reminders and events for people I’ve never heard of. The same notifications don’t show up on my iPhone. This says it’s coming from Family but my Family calendar doesn’t have any such events and I can’t see any detail on the watch to tell me where to start looking. How do I troubleshoot this?
