How to stop iphone from showing what im doing on my ipad?

So basically i recently got an iPad and every time i go to switch apps on my phone while having something open on my ipad it shows a bar at the bottom showing what im doing on my ipad. Is there a way to disable it?

Sure, it is a feature called Handoff that makes it easy to start a task and finish it on another device that uses the same Apple ID, but you can shut it off. Use this support article and it shows where to shut it off on both the iPhone and iPad. Just go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Continuity (or AirPlay & Handoff), then turn off Handoff.
