iOS 18.2 Emoji Keyboard Not Updating

Unfortunately, this doesn't help. You restarted your phone, that's why it's better, but it's temporary. I've had stickers turned off forever and it doesn't change anything.

I have noticed disabling the stickers solves that problem.

You need to go ti Setting > General > Keyboard, and find Stickers at the bottom of the page.

After that restart your phone and it is good as before.

The stickers will not be available but we can live without them as well, until they fix it.

I found a quick fix for this issue, please follow below steps:

Settings -> General -> Keyboards -> Stickers - off

Follow above path and disable the stickers in emoji section, this magically removes emoji keyboard lag. Do not worry about the custom stickers, as u can still use them normally, but those stickers which u generate dynamically by long pressing on emoji will be gone.

Okay, i found a fast fix for this problem.

U can go to: Settings -> General -> Keyboards -> Emoji-Symbole Sticker: Off

After this, u have the old version of emoji keyboard without lagging.

Just found a solution to fix bug, lag, slow whenever you want to go on emojis keyboard which is annoying and im on iphone 16 pro max ios 18.2

Go to Setting > General > Keyboard > Scroll all way down and find emoji stickers and toggle off > then restart your device

the only disadvantage is you wont able to create and use sticker from your ios emoji keyboard when sending messages to someone unless you dont even use stickers at all which is worked perfectly

I just updated to 18.2.1 and it looks like they fixed it! I no longer have those annoying blank emojis and my stickers are work!🎉

Finally, the issue is solved after the 18.3 update. I used it for a while, there was no lag, even after one day, there was no sign of lag. It was a major bug, feels good that it is being fixed.

Is now also fixed for me after 18.2.1 update, thanks Apple!

I encountered this problem too. It’s very annoying but I think I might’ve fixed it on my phone. I simply put the emoji keyboard over the other keyboard/s in the keyboard setting. It worked for me. Otherwise, using a different keyboard like gboard works fine.

Removing all stickers and disabling it in the settings solved the issue for me.

Simply disabling the setting wasn’t enough.

Disable the stickers option in emoji, this helps to fix this issue.

Probably best two reports to log too, given this seems to be two issues.

You have to quit Messages and restart it for to take affect.

iPhone 15pro ios18.2 mam tak samo.

Same here, I have iPhone 15 pro max and since the update the emojis lag and in my recently used I have blank spaces as well. Spend ridiculous amounts a month to have an iPhone and only ever seem have problems not exactly something you'd expect for such a 'good' company... put a picture below of the issue I have with blank spaces. Currently no fix and no sign of another update to sort the issue which has been happening for people prior to Christmas. Makes you realise why so many more people have Android phones these days.
