Update Mazda GPS in car SD CARD

Hi, I no longer have a working computer with the correct drive slots to access an SD card from my fairly new Mazda SUV. It allows free Navigation updates. I do use the GPS at times. I can find nothing so I may be asking a stupid question, but is there a reader of some description that takes the card, attaches to the charging inlet, and after logging in has the capacity to download maps from Mazda to the card? Thank you in advance, Ken

You may find better chance of getting help on this topic if you contact a Mazda user group/forum.

Vehicles, with USB ports, typically have two kinds:

  1. Ones that support both power and data, and
  2. Ones that only support only power. These tend to be placed in the rear of the vehicle.

The former port type is what you will want to use in this case.

They do make USB SD card readers, but your SUV will need to know how to read the SD card when used with one of these. This is where a Mazda user group would come in handy to answer that.
