MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

AirPlay MacBook 2013 to LG Smart TV Not Working When I stream via my iPhone 13 via AirPlay to my TV (LG UP77006LB) it goes well. This applies to all apps such as Netflix, Videoland, YouTube. However, this does not work with my MacBook Pro (2013 model). (when selecting the TV it keeps loading on the Mac, nothing happens on TV). Possibly these two devices are not compatible? Can imagine that one might work on AirPlay 1 and the other on AirPlay 2 or shouldn't that matter? Strangely enough, I can just mirror the screen of this Mac. Is it perhaps just a setting that is not right on the Mac, or the TV?

By the way, I can stream from the Mac via AirPlay to an Apple TV 3.. Anyone have an idea why streaming between Mac and TV fails? And better yet, perhaps a solution? ps I don't see the subject AirPlay, that's why I chose MacBook Pro

The Mac supports Airplay of video only to bona-fide Airplay devices. Unless your LG TV is labeled "Works with Apple airplay" it does not. Some Android TV devices may be able to load a third-party App that simulates Airplay. Of course if they do not work well, Apple will not help you with that.

Also, the services you mentioned as sources are VERY fussy about content protection. Unless the entire chain of devices promises, using established protocols, that it honors HDCP content protection, those displays will remain dark when playing protected content.

it says my television has airplay 2.. so it should work I guess? My MacBook recognizes the television as well but if I select it to stream to it just keeps on loading. (On the Mac, on television nothing happens)..

mirroring the Mac though works well..
