How can I remove desktop and documents from iCloud? They keep on showing up even after deleting them. Factory reset my MacBook, so I can't remove them from there

You can turn it it off by not letting you Mac sync with iCloud.
Go to Drive and turn both Sync This Mac and Desktop & Documents Folders off. If you want to manually upload to iCloud leave Sync This Mac on.
When you set up Mac , turn on iCloud Drive the desktops and documents box is inbuilt , you can't remove it permanently from iCloud.com
