Why my iPad Pro 12.9 1st Gen can’t update to iOS 18

My iPad Pro 12.9 1st gen can easily handle iOS 18 bc the A9X runs exactly the same as the A11 CPU

Apple how could u not give the iPad Pro 12.9 1st gen iOS 17 and 18 it can handle the os well if the 7th gen runs iOS 18 then WHY NOT the iPad Pro 12.9 1st gen which it speeds like the A11 CPU so apple can u make the iPad Pro 12.9 1st gen to have iOS 18?

The 7th-generation iPad has an A10 chip. The first-generation iPad Pro has an A9. So it's a generation earlier and that's apparently enough of a difference. Even then there are a number of features in iPadOS 16 and later that the 7th-gen iPad won't support, much less support all the features in iPadOS 18.

In any case, that's how it is and it's not going to change. If you need to run iPadOS 18, you'll need a newer iPad.

There's more to the picture than just RAM. The CPU and GPU all factor into the equation, and Apple has determined that the processors in the first-generation iPad Pro cannot handle the demand of iPadOS 18. That's not going to change, particularly since Apple considers that model of iPad to be "obsolete" and hence no longer provides support for it.

Any just so you know, you're not communicating with Apple in these forums. We are all just fellow users here.
