Set contact's default call number to landline but default text number to mobile

My parents still have a landline as their primary phone. So when I tell Siri to "Call Mom," I always want it to call the landline, and it does. But I'm having an issue that when trying to text her on her seldomly used mobile, it texts the landline instead of the mobile.

Help articles say that to fix the texting issue, I should have the mobile listed first in the Contact's card, but I think that will make it default to calling her mobile as well, which I don't want. Any advice?

You may Add Favorites on your iPhone

  1. Open the Phone app.
  2. Tap Favorites at the bottom of the screen (Left Hand Corner).
  3. Tap + at the top. (Left Hand Corner)
  4. Choose the contact you want to add to the Favorites list. ...
  5. You may choose which type of communication you want to do with the favorite Contact: Message, Call, Video, or Mail.

In your case choose first Landline for calls and add the same contact as favourites with mobile for texts.
