Hearing aids using iPhone and iPad

I use hearing aids,when I listen to radio on my iPad I only get sound in the left side, and when I listen to the same radio station on my iPhone I only get sound in my right ear.. Both hearing aids are paired with each device,and volume levels are set the same on each device..Why do I not get sound in both ears from each device … Help..
