Logic Remote on iPad won't connect to Logic Pro on Mac Studio
Mac Studio M1 Max 64GB RAM
Sequoia 15.1.1
Logic 10.7.9 and Logic 11.1
6th-Gen iPad, iOS 17.7.3
Logic Remote suddenly stopped connecting; at launch, it just hangs at the “Connect; Select the application to control…” screen with nothing listed beneath.
I know there are other posts about this, I’ve checked a bunch of them. Also, please don’t send the generic Apple “If you can't connect Logic Remote to Logic Pro, GarageBand or MainStage”
support link, I’ve already check all that.
Here are all the things already checked/tried:
- Both are on the same network (I only have one network in the house)
- Firewall on the Mac is entirely disabled
- I don’t have a “TouchOSC” device in my Logic control surfaces
- On the iPad, Logic Remote is enabled in Settings>Privacy & Security>Local Network
- I’ve restarted the Mac, the iPad, and my internet connection
- I updated MacOS and iOS to latest versions.
It has worked fine recently - I use it a often. I did install the newest version of Logic recently and Logic Remote has worked since then on both 10.7.9 and 11.1. I didn’t intend to keep both versions active, but 11.1 is noticeably slower than 10.7.9 (nice work there Apple, but that’s another rant for another post), so I grabbed 10.7.9 off Time Machine and put it back in apps alongside the new version.
Thank you in advance for any assistance!
