MacBook Pro Screen is Blacking Out at Random Angles; Have to Press Escape Key to Turn On Screen

Hi everyone. I have a Late 2020 MacBook Pro 13" with a Touch Bar and M1 chip. Recently, whenever I open up my computer, the screen is black. The Touch Bar and keyboard light up but the screen stays black. The only way I can turn the screen on is by pressing the "esc" key two times (this is the only key that will do this, I've tested all the others); then I can log in and use my computer as usual. But when my computer is open and I am working on it, if I close the computer in at about a 90 degree angle the screen goes black again. Does anyone possibly know what could be the issue? Software or hardware problem? I have reset and also restarted my computer, but nothing does the trick.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 15.3
