My MacBook Pro does not recognize my iPad

Shows charging.

Does not show in Finder.

Does not show in USB Device Tree.

Software updated. (As of this moment.)

New Apple charging cable.

Have restarted both numerous times.

iPhone shows connected.

I have checked and followed every suggestion in other Apple.com troubleshooting articles.

I'd like to update my Music app. on iPad. I used to be able to. I don't know what changed.
