iTunes could not be connected to iPad

Trying to reset an old password on an Ipad I haven't used in years. after going through multiple passwords I was completely locked out. I've Tried Factory resetting the Ipad, but Apparently itunes could not connect to the Ipad. I do not want to deal with Apple and would rather factory reset my Ipad.

Take a look here:

How to factory reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If your computer doesn't recognize the iPad, see:

If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Note that if you have the newer apps from Apple installed - Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Devices - you need to use Apple Devices, not iTunes.

Regards.
