Correct passcode not accepted on iPhone iOS 18.2

Last night, my iPhone 13 Pro ran out of battery and turned off. I plugged it in immediately and waited for it to restart. When it powered back on, it asked for my passcode (since Face ID is unavailable after a restart). However, despite entering the correct passcode multiple times, the phone didn’t recognize it and displayed an “incorrect passcode” message.

I was 100% sure I was entering the correct passcode, but the phone still wouldn’t accept it. This left me locked out of my device, with no option except to make emergency calls. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially if this happens in a remote location where you don’t have access to Apple Support or another device to look up a solution.

This seems like a MAJOR software bug that Apple must address immediately. Even one affected user is too many when it comes to such a critical flaw.

In my case, I was lucky enough to have a MacBook. Here’s what worked for me:

1. Turn off the iPhone completely.

2. Connect your iPhone to your Mac.

3. Right after plugging in the cable press and hold the lock button and continue holding it for about 10 seconds.

4. This connects the iPhone to your mac allowing you to reset it through your Mac.

Unfortunately, this process resets the phone to factory settings. You’ll then need to restore it from your most recent iCloud backup. While this method worked for me, it’s time-consuming and frustrating.

If anyone has experienced this issue and found an alternative solution, please share!

APPLE please fix this bug as soon as possible!!!
