What should I do if my Hearing Aids won't connect to my iPhone?

My Jabra Enhance Pro hearing aids dont work with my iPhone SE 3rd Gen. I can place and receive calls and the incoming audio streams to my hearing aides, but the other party can't hear me. Help?

Am no expert in this area, yet your request certainly deserves some response.

✽ Wondering if your iPhone has the newest iOS version installed: (ie: iOS18.2)

You can check if an update is available: Settings > General > Software Updates.

(NB: If you choose to update: It is wise to back-up iPhone data first.)

If your iPhone's iOS version is already up-to-date,

✽ Try re-starting your iPhone.

(ie: deletes temporary files, re-establishes connections, may update recent setting changes, and often restores order if something is not working as expected.) Test whether or not the situation improved.

✽ A hearing-aid manual often has tips for the particular hearing-aids.

✽ If your hearing-aids have an app, you might want to check the app is the newest version available .... or there may be a firmware update available either within an app, from your hearing-professional, or on the manufacturer's support website. (Jabra may have tips for callers hearing you / your hearing-aid model)

All up-to-date and you still need help ? You might want to troubleshoot to find the particular cause in your case: ie: check whether:

✽ the microphone's are clear & clean:

Eg: See: Cleaning your iPhone - Apple Support

Eg: Some say careful use of a wooden or plastic toothpick is the best tool for clearing any blocked iPhone openings, being extra-careful to remove any wax or specks of dirt, without allowing any to enter an opening.

✽ whether the microphones are working correctly (You can check if they work by creating a short recording in the Voice memo's app.)

See: If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working - Apple Support

✽ whether the iPhone's volume while on a call is sufficient for callers to hear

✽ Also check settings : Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices controls.
