Ongoing device setup after iOS 18.2 update on iPhone 16 Pro Max battery

After updating my iPhone 16 pro max to iOS 18.2. I noticed on the battery app, it says that "ongoing device setup". What exactly is that setup? is it harmful or not? It would be nice for apple to explain what is going on and not try to hide things.

Do you have any third party apps installed? If not, my comments irrelevant. But the bottom line is apps have a lot to do behind the scenes for 1 to 5 days after an update.

Battery data is not being synced. What’s updated and synced are data from the app and server back to the apps. I have 3rd party apps on my iPhone using over a GB of data. Updating and syncing isn’t a 5 minute job.

Again thanks for your response. Maybe I am missing something obviously.

I have not changed or add any third party app since my by previous iOS 17.xxx updates. Therefore, it is a change that apple did in the iOS 18.xxx update. My question was what was changed that causing this issue?

Third party apps need to install and optimize their internal data and cached data for a better user experience. Data needs to be synced to servers and download from servers.

These are very processor and battery capacity intensive processes. Using low power mode delays the processes and when resumed may interfere with regular day to day operation of the device.
