My Apple Pay refund is delayed

On December 12th, I purchased an item from Etsy but the order was cancelled by the seller. I was told the money was refunded back to my Apple Cash account, but to date, it has not shown up nor has it been refunded back to my bank account.

I have decided it is not worth the trouble and I will let others know not to do business with Apple Cash.

Apple is not a bank. It does not and cannot handle funds.

When you initiated a refund request, the merchant’s instructs his bank to send funds back through his credit card processor and then through the Payment Network Processor (Mastercard or Visa or American Express etc.) and then to your bank Legally the merchant can take up to 30 days to complete the refund process.

Apple played no part in the processing of your refund. Please contact the merchant and request the ARN, Acquirer Reference Number, which is how refunds are tracked.

If the merchant can’t provide the number, they are scamming you. If you receive the ARN, contact the bank that issued the credit card you used and provide the ARN so they can track your refund.

If the merchant can’t or won’t provide the ARN, dispute the with the issuing bank.

Im sorry this has happened, especially at the holiday season. But, this isn’t an Apple issue. If I can assist in any way moving forward, please don’t hesitate to respond.

Odd that you jump to the conclusion that this must be Apple's fault.

Jeff Donald is a great source for assistance in all payment processing issues. You should not let Etsy, or specifically the Seller, off the hook and continue to press for the ARN number to prove that they did actually process the return. It would not be the first website retailer that I have seen lie to their customer about a return they have never initiated. When you give up, they win!

Thank you for the explanation. I've contacted the seller and it shows the refunded the money. It has not shown up as if yet, but now that the process has been explained thoroughly, I apologize for jumping to conclusions blaming Apple Pay.

I will be patient and continue to wait.

Have a wonderful holiday and New Year and thank you again for enlightening me on how it all works!
