Remote login not working
I am trying to log in to my iMac with my MBP. To set up Remote Login I did the following:
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu
> System Settings, click General
in the sidebar, then click Sharing. (You may need to scroll down.) - Click
next to Remote Login. - Turn on Remote Login.
- turn on “Allow full disk access for remote users.”
- Click the pop-up menu next to “Allow access for,” choose “Only these users,” click
at the bottom of the list, select users who can log in remotely, then click Select.
Then to log in from the other computer I did the following:
- On the other computer, open the Terminal app
- Type the ssh command, then press Return.
- The basic ssh command format is: ssh username@hostname
- Enter your password, then press Return.
When I do that I get this:
The authenticity of host 'xxx.xxx.x.xx' can't be established. EDxxxxx key fingerprint is SHA256: a lot of letters and numbers here. The key is not known by any other names
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no/[fingerprint])? Yes
Then it asks for my password:
Host@IPaddress's Password:
When I enter my password it says "Permission denied, please try again."
I am the owner of both computers, so I know the password is correct. I am following Apple's instructions to the letter, but nothing is working. Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
