My External SSD named DATA4TB is now name DATA4TB 1

My preferred cloud backup service, Backblaze, notified me that my 4TB external SSD hard drive can't be found.

When I look in Finder it's named the same but when I look in Disk Utility it oddly has an extension added to it.

Two things happened recently: 1) I updated to Sequoia 15.1.1 and 2) I installed Adobe Cloud and some the programs.

Apple Senior support does not have solution and Adobe Senior support claims their software would not make any name changes to the hard drive when it requested access to the drive for storing files.

I have tried several tasks with the help of Apple Senior support but nothing we have tried so far has removed this mysterious "1" extension.

Any ideas or links to other discussions on using Terminal to remove this so I don't have format and restore all the files?

Thank you in advance for you time and experience.

That generally happens when the mount point gets orphaned.

Without the drive mounted, open /Volumes (Go > Computer) and see if there is DATA 4TB folder. If there is, it is just a folder that resulted from the mount point disconnecting and the OS losing track.

If there is a folder by that name, you can drag it to the trash and your drive should mount normally after that.
