The iPhone buy in New Zealand and cannot open in Kiribati country

Apple does not restrict operation of phones across international boundaries.


However, if the phone was originally purchased in NZ at a deep discount (i.e. subsidized), it may well be “Carrier Locked” to the subsiding NZ carrier.


If you are not an active customer of that particular NZ carrier, your odds of getting the phone unlocked are fairly bleak.

Additionally, any “13” recently purchased is almost undoubtedly pre-owned; it may also be “Activation Locked” — and need to be unlocked by the previous owner.
