How to set restrictions for individual Apple TV accounts?

I have set up apple tv and myself and my children have accounts. I cannot seem to restrict their accounts to individual age restrictions. I have set up the restrictions as directed using the passkey, however, all accounts then change to these restrictions including mine. I have also logged into their accounts online to set up parental controls, however, this has still made no difference to their apple tv accounts. How do I rectify this? I do not want them to access tv content above their ages.

Child accounts should have their access limited from content titles with age restrictions, according to their age as listed for their account (DoB). No configuration necessary.

If a movie title is said to be for ages 13+ (PG-13), then child accounts for users aged 12 or lower wouldn’t be able to play said movie.

If a TV show title is said to be for ages 14+ (TV-14), then child accounts for users aged 13 or lower wouldn’t be able to play said TV show.
