"Listen to Page" in Safari Reader mode not available on MacOS

Am I missing something? Why is "Listen to Page" option not available on MacOS while it is available on iOS and iPadOS in Safari. I understand that screen reader is available but I do not want to have to select all text and right click then choose start speech every time I want to hear an article while I work on other things. Is there a fix for this? Is this a feature that will be coming soon?
