Garage Band freezing on Mac after sudden shutdown

My Mac laptop died while using GarageBand, when I turned it back on Garage Band was frozen with a message that says - the last selected audio interface is not available. But I can click Ok to close the message. When I press the space bar it plays the loop region I was working on.
