Adding the hard drive icon to the desk top, when I go to Settings-General I see "storage" but no option to add that icon to the desk top. Is there another way ? Sequoia 15.2 OS.

Did you go to Finder > Settings > General. You must click the Desktop to show the Finder menu option in the menu bar.
You are in the wrong place. While you're in the Finder choose "Settings…" from the Finder menu. Then click on "General".
Click on the Desktop, then choose the Settings option in the Finder menu.
I dont see a " Hard disks" ,only "storage" which does show the HD when I click on it.

GOT it..I didn't know there was a difference between the " Finder" at top of screen and the one on the bottom.
