iMovie update issue on MacBook Pro 2017

I just updated my MacBook Pro 2017 to the newest update, version 13.7.2, and I’m trying to update my iMovie app but there’s a circle with a line through it, which means I’m unable to update it. Is there any way to open the app without updating to the newest software? Or can I update my computer’s software to the newest version of iMovie, version 10.4.3, which requires macOS14.6? I go into the app store to update it but it says "open" instead, but every time I open it it tells me "In order to use 'iMovie', you need to update to the latest version." And then it tells me what version I already have and what version I need to update it to. What are my options here because I need iMovie to edit footage for film classes.

Try this.

Drag your current version of iMovie to the trash.

Open App Store and click on your account name bottom left.

This should open up to your "Purchases" which is a list of apps, free and paid for, that are associated with your Apple ID.

Hopefully, you will see iMovie listed. It will not show "open" now as it is now in the trash.

You should see a download symbol or "get" or something similar, so click on this.

You will be told that you are not able to get the latest version of iMovie but will be offered the latest version that is compatible with your current OS, which is what you want.
