When will AirPods Pro 2 hearing aid features be available in South America?

I just purchased AirPods Pro 2, mostly for their ability to be used as hearing aids. I live in Uruguay, and it seems to be that my country is not supported. But then, in countries from South America only Chile approved their use.

Nobody told me about this before.

Too bad to be true...

When will AirPods Pro 2 hearing aid features be available in South America?

Seems this depends upon when / if authorization from the local authority (eg: like the FDA in US), is provided for South America.

To see which countries are accepting Apple's Hearing Test, and / or the Hearing Aid feature :

See Apple's AirPods Pro 2 - Hearing Health Feature Availability - Apple

Eg: says:

"Some Hearing Health features are not currently available in every region. The Hearing Test and Hearing Aid features are regulated health features that require approval and will be offered after authorization is received."

Seems United Kingdom recently approved the Hearing Test and is now on the list. Australia may be added soon, as their Therapetic Goods Administration (TGA) has given authorization.

Apart from the new hearing aid test and features, AirPods Pro 2 has other earlier features that may be useful for those with mild to moderate hearing loss...

Eg: Headphone Accommodations custom audio settings work with AirPods Pro 2

Conversation Boost focuses your AirPods Pro on the person who's talking in front of you.

This makes it easier to hear when you're talking face-to-face.

Re: "I wish Apple can get their iPods Pro 2 Hearing Aid condition approved in all the countries that still don't (many indeed)."

Yes. The relevant authorities in particular countries do seem to work at their own pace ... hence some countries have approval while others do not. Good to know you can make use of some existing features. Cheers :-)

Thank you brbo. I wish Apple can get their iPods Pro 2 Hearing Aid condition approved in all the countries that still don't (many indeed). In the meantime I will try with the limited generic features that do work.

I'm grateful that you pointed those out for me.

They sound good for music, but the most impressive thing is their cancelling capability. Unbelievable!
