What alternatives out there to AppleCare warranty-iPod touch?Pros and cons?

Hello.
Just purchased an iPod touch at Costco.
Looking for and alternative to AppleCare (prefer a replacement plan).
Any information (experience, pros and cons etc')about AppleCare and/or any other plan would be greatly appreciated.

Some people choose SquareTrade, because they cover accidental damage.

For an iPod or an iPhone I would just go with the standard service options, maybe AppleCare if you think you'll need phone support(only option with phone support) or want extended hardware coverage from Apple.

Also, some credit card companies and insurance companies will have coverage options available.

AppleCare is a replacement plan for issues that would be covered under warranty. Apple does not repair your original iPod should it have a problem; they'll replace it (usually with a refurbished unit). AppleCare also gets you a full two years of telephone support (otherwise you get 90 days free).
