Unknown user in Facetime group call

I was in a call with my mom and my sister on a group call. This unknown id also showed up as one of the members. I made the call on phone and tried to switch it to Apple TV, not sure if Apple handles TV as a dummy user or if this is someone else!!

If this is not Apple doing it, this maybe a serious security breach.

A stranger showed up in Facetime!! Today while I called a friend on a FaceTime call, I suddenly saw my friend and another random person show up in the call! They had no clue of who I was or how they ended up there. This is BIG PRIVACY BREACH!!!! Interestingly after hanging up I had no record of them in my phone. Not sure how they got connected! i would really like to know what went wrong there and if it’s really a glitch in the systems, it’s a pretty big glitch which warrants a fix before FaceTime can be made public for use!!!

Someone hacked my and family’s FaceTime- please help My mom, sister, aunt and I have a normal group chat. Yesterday, my phone said that my mom was calling the group chat on FaceTime. I answer and instead of my mom, it’s an Indian man saying hello. They called multiple times. An hour later, it was just my mom FaceTiming me right after she texted me something so I assumed it was her and answered. It was still an Indian man saying hi. It’s the weirdest thing. My aunt told me that I FaceTimed her yesterday as well and an Indian man was on the other end of the line. I’m really creeped out over this. I called Apple and they said that something like that is not possible, and they have no clue what this is or how it happened. We changed our Apple ID passwords and put to sign out out of all other devices. No other devices other than ours were listed in the settings. I didn’t get a pop up message that my Apple ID is being used somewhere else or anything like that. Has anyone experienced some thing like this? I don’t really know what to do about this.

Group FaceTime Pranks Resolution or class action I have been prank called through FaceTime by a group of ~30 teenagers. This has been going on for over a year, and they will call at all times of the day, late at night, and early morning. I continue to have to scroll through every number to block them 1 by 1, but they continue to call from new numbers. Please advise how I can permanently remove my number from this group, permanently block group calls that contain even a single one of these 30 numbers, or what legal action can be taken either against the callers, my service provider or other group OR if there is any type of class action suit being formed to address these situations. Surely Apple has a solution that can be offered to this situation. Thank you for your prompt response.

It's possible that the unknown ID could be related to the device you or other members in the Group calls tried to switch the call to, such as the Apple TV. When you switch calls between devices, sometimes the system might display a placeholder or technical identifier temporarily.
