MacOS must be updated to access my iPhone?

I've got an iPhone 13 Pro and a Mac Studio. Phone is running 18.2. Studio, 14.7.2.

If I plug the phone into the Mac I get a message that says the Mac must be updated in order to access the phone.

I assume this means that I must update to Sequoia. Unfortunately, I can't do that yet, because an application I use is not yet compatible.

If I hit the upgrade button will I end up on Sequoia? Does anybody know what that upgrade message is asking for?

Thanks much,

Steve
