My network activity indicator disappeared after updating to iPadOS 18

I use the network activity wheel that is usually in the top right quite frequently to determine whether applications or processes that I’m running are making a connection or sometimes frozen. But ever since updating to IpadOS 18 the wheel entirely disappeared, I’m still able to have a network connection, even making this on the iPad right now, but I don’t understand why it disappeared. Are other people having this issue, was this an intended removal? I have updated to the newest version available to me without going to the beta program, and I have tried restarting my iPad but there is still no indication that network activity is happening.
