Screen Flickering and Freezing after software upgrade to IOS 18.2

I am using iphone 13 pro max and I recently upgraded the software to IOS18.2. The day I upgraded the software I started getting screen flickering as if a photo is being clicked and I assumed it to be something within the video that I was watching, but it kept happening and I logged a support request with chat support, unable to narrow down the issue was escalated to higher software engineer. the issue became worst day by day and eventually the screen was completely frozen and blank white screen. I could hear the message notification and call ringing, but was unable to attend the call as the screen was completely blank and frozen. I am facing this issue immediately after the upgrade and apple care team saying if the screen was completely blank and frozen they would have replaced free of cost, since it is intermittent it has to be paid service. Honestly I don't understand the logic behind. There is no physical damage to the phone and it was perfectly working until the upgrade was done. If th software is not compatible with 13pro max then why do we get notification to upgrade the software.

Can someone share your thoughts what to do in this case.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

Thank you for your response. However, it is the fact. After the update issue started appearing and became worse day by day. I eventually started getting full screen blank and white. This was there for almost 10 hours (Without any physical or water damage). Even if I tried force restarting, it did not work. I had to book and appointment with apple care to get this checked, which is still being investigated.

When I first reported this issue to chat support they did run a remote diagnosis and confirmed there is no hardware issue and escalated it to senior software engineer. I was asked to record it and shared for further investigation.

Yesterday received a call from apple care techie stating it could be because of SW glitch, if this is the case there should be a bug fix.

secondly, he stated it could be issue with the wifi I used for installing the OS, which seemed silly to me. My husband is using Iphone 11 pro max and it is working absolutely fine even after the upgrade.

For instance even if we consider above mentioned points, iphone should work absolutely fine with software downgrade in this case, which is not possible to downgrade as per the inputs from the technician.
