PDF icons are stuck on Macbook desktop screen

PDF icons are stuck on my screen anf they wont get clciked or moved. I tried restarting the mac but nothing seems to work. How to get rid of them?

That looks more like LaunchPad not your "Macbook desktop screen"...



you can try Reset Launchpad from the Terminal.app copy & paste:

defaults write com.apple.dock ResetLaunchPad -bool true && killall Dock



if no resolve from Terminal.app copy and paste:

rm ~/Library/Application Support/Dock/*.db; killall Dock



report back your success or failure

A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies


Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.


Login and make some changes to your stuck file.


Reboot  as normal and test.  Caches get rebuilt automatically.
