iOS 18.2 destroying my phone

My iPhone 14 Pro was so mint before iOS 18, I was under the impression that iOS 18.2 was meant to fix all the issues but my phone is still freezing in safari, and getting so hot for no reason and I’m worried it’s going to explode. And I’m still charging my battery 3 times a day. Which was never an issue before the update, I could spend absolutely all day on my phone no problems. When are you going to do a recall and replace everyone’s phones that you have destroyed??? I haven’t even paid my phone off yet

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 18

Reset your phone to Factory Settings and do not restore from a backup and compare your results. I would recommend turning off iCloud Backups first, so it will not backup after restoring and replace you backup. That way you can restore again from your previous backup to get your data back. There are several apps that have been seen that are causing the exact problem you are experiencing and include:

  • VPN
  • Instagram
  • SnapChat
  • WhatsApp

These apps have been updated multiple times in the last month introducing bugs and the timing of those app updates have been mistaken for the iOS update. Either use the steps provided or remove those apps to see if there is an improvement. I suspect you will find the answer and have all day battery life after that has been done. The choice is then yours on if it is worth having the apps that are causing the problems you are experiencing. Only the developers can update their app to eliminate the bugs, Apple cannot do that.

yeah instagram is using 68% of my battery maybe that’s it

Yep, that is one of the identified apps. It continues to use background processes even when you are not using the app. Meta is doing this to gather as much information about you as it can to sell to advertisers. That is how they make billions of dollars while letting you use the service for free. Simply look on the Privacy Page for the app in the store and see that they can gather data from:

  • Health & Fitness
  • Purchases
  • Financial Info
  • Location
  • Contact Info
  • Contacts
  • User Content
  • Search History
  • Browsing History
  • Sensitive Info
  • Usage Data

Fredda I got a new iPhone 15 a few weeks ago which came updated to 18 .2. All was fine till a day later when I noticed an huge amount of text messages and photos on the message app were all missing. The see all also was no longer working. After spending 3 weeks inc numerous trips to store far away and spending hours with tech support no better. I gave the 15 back and reset my old use phone which now also had these messages. It had all the messages before but now they are also missing. They shd stop pushing the 16 and do something about not ruining people’s phone. You cd try setting to new and then transferring by I cloud. I am upset

My iPhone XR completely destroyed by iOS 18.2. To restore keyboard to default is impossible. The iPhone is dangerous because now keyboard and any clicks are chaos without my ability to stop it. Am elderly on Medicaid and SNAP and there is no way to buy a new iPhone. As I realising it was extreme cruelty to push costumers to buy new models. But I am now cut from medical help, from connections, from world. Who and why doing it to loyal costumers,

I don’t see solutions only to condemn Apple and to stop to use . I have second old SE phone that unfortunately can’t help: it is almost not working.

Don't understand what you mean by your keyboard being dangerous because of clicks without your ability to stop it, but not sure if you are looking for assistance or not. If you are interested in help, please describe the issue you are having and if possible provide screenshots to help us visualize what you are seeing.
